Sustainability in its broadest sense is central to how SWEP operates and defines success. It is not just what we measure – it is how we make a lasting impact. By creating more with less energy, material and space, we address critical global challenges and empower our customers in their pursuit of decarbonization and circularity. At the same time, we take a critical look at our own operations to get the full picture of our sustainability profile. A systematic, goal-oriented approach ensures that a sustainable mindset is embedded across all aspects of our work – and the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework helps us measure and demonstrate our progress.

At SWEP, we have restructured our internal processes to prioritize and promote sustainability throughout the entire organization, resulting in ambitious targets and defined KPIs.

Environmental key goals

Achieve carbon neutrality in scope 1 & 2 by 2030
Reduce scope 3 emission intensity by 20% by 2030
Reduce water intensity in production by 50% by 2030

Social key goals

Reach an 85 % score on the Diversity & Inclusion Index in the employee engagement survey by 2030
Have a total recordable incident rate below 0.76 by 2025

Governance key goals

Dover hotline (whistleblower channel) globally available
Annual training to all employees on anti-bribery and anti-corruption

Supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals

We view the 17 goals as interconnected paths toward one single larger goal – that of a habitable and equitable planet. While we contribute to some more directly than others, we consider them all equally important and keep them in mind when shaping SWEP’s strategy.

Recognized efforts

Our diligent sustainability work at SWEP International AB and the Landskrona plant has been awarded an EcoVadis Silver Medal. EcoVadis is the world’s largest provider of business sustainability ratings. We earned high marks for clear goals, actions and results in key environmental areas, including reductions in water withdrawals and carbon emissions, as well as certifications such as ISO14001. Additional contributing factors were our focus on employee health and safety, improved working conditions and efforts to advance diversity, equity and inclusion.

Actively dedicated to environmental benefits

Since the start, SWEP’s purpose has been to challenge efficiency and lead the conversion to sustainable energy usage in heat transfer, enabling a more sustainable way of life. From reducing emissions and conserving water to increasing the use of recycled materials and renewable energy, we are committed not only to helping customers but minimizing our own footprint while continuing to make more from less.
