Brazed plate heat exchanger

Unrivalled efficiency. Unlimited applications

Compact and customizable, brazed plate heat exchangers from SWEP deliver exceptional thermal performance in a wide range of applications. They are ideal for use as condensers, evaporators, or economizers within HVAC or refrigeration, or as single-phase units within data center cooling, district energy, or residential heating. They require minimal space but deliver maximum savings in energy and maintenance.

WHAT IS A BPHE?

If heat is your challenge, SWEP is your solution.

Compared with shell-and-tube models of the same capacity, brazed plate heat exchangers from SWEP are up to 90% smaller by weight and volume, making them easier to transport, handle and install. Their size enables greater flexibility in designing your complete system. They are available with a wide range of connections.

Our brazed plate heat exchanger portfolio is the broadest on the market, ranging from our smallest unit, which weighs just over 1 kg, to our high-capacity models that can handle several megawatts of heating or cooling.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

How do brazed plate heat exchangers work?

SWEP brazed plate heat exchangers are constructed of stacked corrugated plates, which are separated by layers of filler and mounted between cover plates. During the vacuum brazing process, the filler material forms brazed joints at every contact point between the plates, creating highly complex channels.

The heat exchanger channels one cold medium and one hot medium through alternating plates within the stack. As the two media flow past each other (but never mix), energy, in the form of heat, is transferred from one to the other.

HOW TO KEEP CLEAN

The simple solution to scaling and fouling

The highly turbulent flows inside a brazed plate heat exchanger are usually enough to keep it clean. However, in applications with a high risk of fouling or scaling due to high temperatures, hard water, or high pH levels, cleaning in place (CIP), may be necessary to maintain efficiency.
